Today is my birthday and figured I’d share a little drawing.
This started out as a sketch and became something a little more.

A younger and older version of Trip.Notice the older version of her has an EMP staff. Yep. I assumed she picked up a technique or two from Monkey. Interesting thing to note about EMP weapons in games or sci-fi in general is they aren’t very realistic. If an actual EMP wave or blast went off it would not only fry everything electronic, but it would probably do the same to you. This is why suspending reality is great. And one can assume Trip’s dad did the best he could while brushing her hair lol…

Monkey and Trip detail of original post.  Why does their clothing look different you ask? Bc it’s based on this story: BIRTHRIGHT

Over the summer I stumbled across an exceptional piece of writing, entitled Birthright, based on the game Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. This fan conceived continuation of the original game is written by Em Dash who not only stays true to the Enslaved universe, but expands and realizes a new set of characters that seamlessly blend into Ninja Theory’s established cosmology. Em’s narrative never seems to have plot elements and characters haphazardly placed alongside Monkey and Trip, which is why I was compelled to interpret and illustrate the new cast.
This is the first set of two images that I’ve worked on since August. I hope to have the other up soon, so we’ll see how it goes…
